# Set-up your organizational structure

## In this article we will explain the best practices on how to set-up your organizational structure in Muto.

### What should my organizational structure look like?

Ensure your organizational structure is also configured in Muto. 

#### Organization

If you need to completely separate the fleet(s) you are managing, please reach out to support@mutomobility.com. Our team will create a new organization in Muto that remains connected to your account, enabling you to easily switch between different fleets or organizations.

#### Companies

The highest level of your organizational structure should be labeled under "companies". Every (part of a) organisation with a **different** VAT number needs to be set up as a separate company.

#### Cost centers

Cost centers are the lower levels division, departement, team or any other unit to which a cost can be booked. Each cost center requires a unique code in Muto. Both employees and assets can be linked to a cost center.

#### Locations

Locations serve as a fictive employee when an asset is not linked to an employee.

**The biggest difference:** locations can only be linked to assets while cost centers can be linked to both employees and assets.
